The Global Entrepreneurship Summer School is a collaborative project of the four leading university-based Entrepreneurship Centers in Munich as well as the Social Entrepreneurship Academie – that’s why they believe in the power of entrepreneurial thinking for a better and sustainable future.

During the Summer School the student teams develop ideas that have both a sustainable impact for society and a self-sustaining, profitable business model. The students learn about entrepreneurship, develop their own sustainable business ideas and build a long-lasting network of international excellent and entrepreneurial students. The Global Entrepreneurship Summer Schools fosters the important role of education, entrepreneurship and networking for a sustainable development.


  • You can apply as undergraduate or graduate of all university studies e.g.: design, computer science, business economics, humanities, social sciences etc.
  • You have to be enrolled in any university at any time during 2015 and you have to be aged between 18 – 27 years. For example: If you are enrolled only until February 2015 you can apply even if you won’t be enrolled in September 2015. “Enrolled” applies in our definition also to MBA or PhD students.

Global Scholarships:

We may cover parts of travel expenses of selected international students who are invited to Munich. You can apply for 1 of 10 travel scholarships after being selected. We will cover 50% of your travel expenses, with a maximum of 500 Euro. You will get the grant in cash during your stay in Munich.


Participants won’t have to pay for their accommodation. We will provide your accommodation from Sep 15 until Sep 25 either in student dorms or in private rooms at participants’ places from Munich. If you want to arrive earlier or stay longer in Munich, please take care of it by yourself.

Food & travel in Munich:

We will provide for some exclusive dinners as well as many snacks and coffee during the whole week.


This year, we will accept 35 outstanding students from around the world who will get an invitation to Munich. In addition we will accept 15 virtual participants. All applications will go through a very strict, but fair selection process. You can fill out the Application Form online and attach the required documents and answers.

The Ozy Genius Awards

OZY announces a celebration of young genius. This spring, it will award 10 summer grants to college students, with the aim of backing the next Albert Einstein, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey or Harper Lee as he or she writes a book, films a documentary or launches a new company. The competition opens this month, with winners announced in early May.

How to Enter: Step 1: Fill out a short questionaire about your project. Step 2: Upload a short video or photo with a description of your project for the public to vote on.

Winners: Ten students will win up to $10,000 for their summer projects, and their work will be profiled by OZY and its partners in the fall.  

Judges: Submissions will be open for public voting and judged by a panel of executives, artists and advocates at the top of their fields, including Laurene Powell Jobs, founder of Emerson Collective, and David Drummond, chief legal officer and vice president, corporate development at Google.

Eligibility: The competition is open to undergraduate students at colleges and universities.

Internet of Things (IoT) is the trend of taking previously unconnected objects – like cars, cranes, and cash registers – and connecting them to the internet in a way that they can send & transmit information that can then be acted on by the network.

The IoT World Forum Young Women’s Innovation Grand Challenge is a global innovation challenge open to young women between the ages of 13-18. The aim of the challenge is to recognize, promote, and reward young innovators as they come up with new uses for Internet of Things technologies.


  • Must be a student who likes to take a creative approach to projects.
  • Must be a young woman between 13-18 years old.
  • Must be able to look at the problems of today and propose how they’d solve one problem using Internet of Things technology.

The competition, Tech-I is focused on young scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs, aged between 18-40 years, who have either an idea or start up in the subject areas of agriculture, energy, health or information and communication technologies.


  • An all-expenses paid trip to sub-Saharan Africa in July to participate in the Finals at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
  • Finalists may win up to $15,000 USD in individual funding, up to $70,000 USD in total Prize money.
  • A year membership with AAAS
  • All finalists will receive up to 3 months one-on-one mentorship with top experts in their field or subject of interest
