• Year 2: Will be promoted to a Virtual Systems Engineering role in Global Virtual Engineering. You must stay at the Cisco Sales Associates Program hub location or be relocated to a Global Virtual Engineering hub in their home country for 12 months. Relocation outside the Cisco Sales Associates Program hub location would be based on business need. We cannot confirm final placement destination at the time of offer. Cisco will provide relocation assistance when applicable.

If you’re looking for a long-term volunteering opportunity, the International Humanity Foundation is offering you the chance to help in its children’s home in Nakuru, Kenya; Chiang Rai, Thailand; and in education centers and children’s homes in Bali, Jakarta, Medan and Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

IHF is looking for hard-working, committed volunteers to help in its children’s home in Kenya. IHF provides education, and in some cases, homes, to children in need in six centers across Indonesia, Thailand and Kenya. IHF has no central headquarters; each center is a product of its environment and follows the cultural code and norms of its host country.

The Kenya center is a children’s home and also provides emergency relief to the surrounding community. This is the biggest IHF center, with approximately 100 kids. The kids are from the marginalized Pokot tribe, whose conditions are amongst the worse in Kenya. Living conditions in this region are harsh, and the organization provides basic needs such as a home, food, and access to education to children who would otherwise go without. They also run livestock donation projects and other initiatives to relieve the extreme poverty where they can.

The Thailand center is a home for hill-tribe children. Children from this marginalized community come to the IHF center for a stable home and a chance for an education.

IHF has four centers in Indonesia, in Bali, Jakarta, Medan and Banda Aceh. Their Jakarta and Aceh centers provide homes to a small number of children, while all centers offer English, math and computer classes to disadvantaged children. With a population of over 240 million, Indonesia’s public education system often fails to give children a chance to escape the poverty they were born into. IHF fills that gap and give kids a chance to aim higher.

At the centers, you will divide your time between caring for the children and working on international tasks. IHF is a grassroots, all-volunteer organisation with no central office, so all administration work is done in center. All volunteers manage one or more of their international task teams such as university relations, fundraising and media; working together online with volunteers in other centers. You will be assigned according to your experience. You must possess excellent time management skills.


Those who are secure without the comforts of home gain the most from this valuable opportunity. They are looking for applicants preferably with:

  • A related university degree: for instance in social studies, language, teaching, medicine, law, social work;
  • Experience abroad; travel, working or volunteering;
  • 1-2 years working experience in any field;
  • Experience with teaching and/or children.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential. Those interested in volunteering at an IHF centre are required to complete a level of pre-trip duties in order to gain an understanding of how the organization functions.


Volunteers must commit to serve at least a year at the center. Basic accommodation and food is provided by IHF. You are a volunteer at the center, and all local tasks completed are done so without pay. Volunteers who commit to serving one year or more will receive a small monthly stipend. It is broken down as follow:

  • First 3 months: Training period – $20 per month;
  • 3-6 months: Assistant co-Director – $50 per month;
  • 6-9 months: Co-Director – $80 per month;
  • 9-12 months: Co-Director – $100 per month.

This stipend results only from the international online work; not from any local tasks. After one year there is the opportunity to become a full Director. These stipends are strictly fixed. They will not be raised for more experienced applicants, and everyone will be upgraded according to the time-frames outlined above, and no sooner. There are no exceptions to this, regardless of what may be the situation in the centre. They are an all-Volunteer organization and training and hands-on experience is paramount.

The Kenya National Volunteer’s Programme





The Kenya National Volunteers Program is a national service programme which aims to meet three key objectives:

  1. Create enriching opportunities for over 30,000 unemployed Kenyan youth
  2. Promote national cohesion
  3. Improve educational outcomes for over 2 million primary aged children


As part of this programme, the Government of Kenya seeks to recruit high performing recent university graduates to serve as Volunteer Graduate Assistants in primary schools for an un-interrupted period of 1 year. They will provide education support and serve as ‘education ambassadors’ in the surrounding community. Two volunteers will be placed in each participating primary school and will receive a modest living stipend of KShs. 6,000 per month


  1. Volunteers MUST have completed their course work and any related research
  2. Volunteers MUST hold a University Degree in any area of study
  3. Volunteers MUST have officially graduated from their Universities at the time of applying



The selected Volunteers will participate in a 3-week intensive residential training course that will be aimed at preparing them for their placement, and increasing their job skills. Volunteers will be trained in key skills that will carry them into future employment. After training, Volunteers will be deployed in pairs to their placements, first meeting county and district officials, participating head teachers, school management committee members and other Volunteers in their region. Volunteers will be deployed to another County other than their own and will stay with a host family during the 1 Year in the field.

Success will be determined by a combined score based on your online application, correct responses to essay questions, correct responses to a series of online tests and success based on an assesment by independent and professional in-person interviewers. These reviews will ensure that a high-quality cohort of volunteers who understand and are committed to the programme’s objectives are selected.


At the conclusion of the one year of service, Volunteers will graduate and receive an official completion certificate. The names of the Volunteers who successfully complete the programme will be gazetted and their service recognized. Following the graduation ceremony, many Volunteers will begin their internships, mentoring opportunities, jobs or start their own businesses. Graduates will also be expected to maintain an active alumni network that will further build on their professional skills, networking opportunities and build the programme’s visibility.


After 9 months of service, Volunteers will gather at a Career Fair and Capacity Building Workshop. During the event, Volunteers will receive training and guidance on career development. Representatives from the Private, Public and Non-Profit sector will give motivational talks, and skills training to the Volunteers and will meet with top-performing individuals in small groups. These representatives will review evaluations of the Volunteer’s performance with the pupils in the schools that the Volunteers have been serving in. They will shortlist some Volunteers to enter into existing in-house internships and mentoring programmes in their companies. Volunteers who are successful in these companies’ assesment process will be offered internship, mentoring and job opportunities. All Volunteers will return to their placements and complete the final months of their Volunteering assignment.

UNESCO will implement a four-year project focused on the media sector in Jordan as a platform for democratic dialogue and a crucial instrument to transparency and accountability in a democratic society. Its main objective is to strengthen an enabling regulatory and institutional environment and to build the capacity for an independent, quality based media sector serving the entire population. Primary beneficiaries will be those working in the media sector, however, secondary beneficiaries will be the Jordanian society as a whole that relies on the media as a major source of information.

The Communication and Coordination Officer is a core member of the project team who will be responsible for the overall visibility and outreach of the project and its activities, in addition to maintaining constant and efficient communication between project staff and the donor, partners, and beneficiaries. Their prime responsibility is to make sure that project outputs achieved are visible according to a clearly defined communication strategy and abiding by the guidelines of both organizations, UNESCO and the EU, to ensure that all deliverables under the project receive adequate media attention and are communicated to different audiences in an effective manner.


  • Advanced university degree (equivalent to a Master degree) in Communication or Information Sciences, Media and Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, International Development or in any other related field relevant to the themes addressed by the project.
  • Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience (less than 1 year for candidate with PhD) in the area of communication, journalism and/or information management at the national and/or sub-regional level;
  • Experience in working in the implementation of national and/or sub-regional projects in the area of communication, journalism and information;
  • Experience to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Experience in working with information technology.


Annual salary is 55 300 USD approximately. Duration of the contract is initially for a one-year period, with potential of renewal.
